A New York Weekend

This past weekend I traveled to New York City for work. We had the best time finding inspiration at the gift show, visiting a florist in Brooklyn, meeting with a magazine editor, and seeing one of our clients. We left full of new ideas and ready for a Spring filled with weddings.

New York City

A few days ago I traveled to the big city to visit some of my best friends! We had a ball. Walking all around the city, shopping, eating, and just enjoying being together.

Taking a Drive

This past weekend I went on a drive. The weather was perfectly "fally"... brisk breeze, burnt orange leaves, and a sunny sky. Heading west on 64 we zipped out of town and headed towards Crozet and onto Wintergreen. We made a few stops along the way too!

First up: Greenwood Gourmet Grocery

Next Stop: Blue Mountain Brewery

Take a drive when you have the time!

Montpelier Horse Races

Just the other weekend my family and I headed to the Montpelier Horse Races! It was the perfect fall day... crisp, sunny, and a bit chilly. Our tailgating spot was filled with yummy treats and the dollar jar was jammed pack  as each guest voted on their favorite horse.

I am already excited for next years races!

Have a Terrific Tuesday and check back soon!

back in C'ville!

After a very fun and relaxing weekend away, I am back in Charlottesville.... just in time for our graduation celebrations!

Sullivans Island was great fun, and we even had the chance to slip into Charleston for the afternoon and stroll King Street and walk the Battery.

El Fin De Semana de Mayo

This year my Cinco de Mayo celebrations seemed to last the whole week.... and I had no problem with that! Celebration #1 took place on the 5th of May when we went to La Cocina del Sol in Crozet. It was the perfect place to spend the holiday, enjoying fajitas and lime margaritas!

The Crozet area is simplistic. With a few restaurants, a barber shop, and other little odds and ends the neighborhood is quite sleepy by 10pm! La Cocina del Sol seemed to be the happening spot for Cinco de Mayo.... all of the outside tables were occupied and groups of friends enjoyed good Mexican food and fun colorful drinks.

Be sure to check out the Crozet area, located close to C'ville, this summer! The quiet atmosphere and empty streets are a nice break from the busy city life.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday...and check back soon!

Weekend Wedding

It's Wednesday and I figured it's the perfect day for the Weekend Wedding photos. This weekend Easton Events helped make the magical celebration at Tuckahoe Plantation happen. It was a blast...from a large Sperry Tent to a cocktail hour spend among the gardens of Tuckahoe this wedding was simply magnificent.

I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with the Bridal Party as they had their hair done and makeup set. They sat in the Bridal Suite telling stories from college and beyond. It was great fun being in the midst of their laughter and excitement. After everyone was set and ready to go we headed to Tuckahoe Plantation for the 'first look' and photos of the Wedding Party before heading to the Church.
What a beautiful sunny day Isabelle and Mike had for their wedding! The gardens were lush, the grass was green, and the sun was streaming into the antique windows of Tuckahoe, also known as the home where Thomas Jefferson grew up and attended school! The home was adorned with old pieces of furniture and family portraits hung on the wooden or wallpapered walls.

After pictures were taken we headed to St. Marys and the ceremony took place. There was even a bagpiper waiting in the cemetery for the final procession. Look closely... the flower girl was absolutely precious.

The Wedding was a blast. With cocktails outside and dinner and dancing under the tent the night flew by smoothly. Don't you just love the simplicity of this escort card table located among the gardens. Cardboard colored envelopes were used with a white calligraphy to create a natural style.

Hints of green and purple were used within the Sperry Tent. I loved the variety of high and low settings as well as the cushioned chivaris which really added that splash of color the bride was looking for.

When things were calm and everyone was where they were needed to be I took some time to slip away and wander around the beautiful property. There were so many wonderful little spaces that were well manicured. From the inside of an old outhouse to a small fenced in garden the Plantation was the perfect place for this Spring Wedding.
