cookies, cookies, cookies

It's that time of the year... oh! wait... it's always that time of the year when I am at home with my sister! Baking cookies is something we both share a passion for doing.

a winter sky

Yesterday we spent some time taking photos on the beach!
Not only was it 62 degrees... the sky was unreal.

Sweet Rolls

The other night after dinner we decided to make  homemade cinnamon rolls!

The first step (and most important!) was mixing together the bread dough. This included yeast, that we had been feeding throughout the week, flour, butter, and other goodies. After 6 hours the dough was ready to be rolled and sliced. We rolled all of the dough out on the kitchen counter and spread a layer of butter, cinnamon, and sugar on the dough. The next step was rolling the dough into one long roll! We sliced the roll into 15 little pieces and popped them into the oven.

For an even sweeter roll we mixed together cream, butter, and powdered sugar for a glaze.

Hot sweet rolls, the perfect after dinner treat!

Taking a Drive

This past weekend I went on a drive. The weather was perfectly "fally"... brisk breeze, burnt orange leaves, and a sunny sky. Heading west on 64 we zipped out of town and headed towards Crozet and onto Wintergreen. We made a few stops along the way too!

First up: Greenwood Gourmet Grocery

Next Stop: Blue Mountain Brewery

Take a drive when you have the time!

Montpelier Horse Races

Just the other weekend my family and I headed to the Montpelier Horse Races! It was the perfect fall day... crisp, sunny, and a bit chilly. Our tailgating spot was filled with yummy treats and the dollar jar was jammed pack  as each guest voted on their favorite horse.

I am already excited for next years races!

Have a Terrific Tuesday and check back soon!

Homemade

This past weekend I traveled home to spend time with my sister and close family friends. We went shopping, cooked sweets, and made homemade crafts together!

Felt animals... how fun!

Farmers Market Find

This Saturday the local C'ville farmers market was crowded with locals, as well as those who were back visiting for Virginia's homecoming weekend!

The market was in full fall swing! From pumpkins to hot apple cider and homemade marshmallows people were out in about in sweaters, scarves, and boots.

I found a little painting inspired by Charlottesville life that I bought for $20.00. The artist places for tiny images on a page. I bought the downtown mall collection... Rock Paper, Chaps, Cafe Cubano, and Splendoras! Check back later for more information on this artist and her work!

Castle Hill Wedding

Last weekend we had a lovely wedding at Castle Hill Cider in Keswick. The space is literally an exposed barn with cement flooring and wood walls. Hard work from a variety of vendors made the space come to life! Here are a few snapshots from the day before the big day.

We left late Friday night excited for the Saturday ahead...

Have a Super Saturday... and check back soon!
