Weekend Wedding Set-up

Augusta and I headed out to Farmington Country Club yesterday afternoon around 1 to start preparations for the big wedding today! Everything went smoothly... it was so fun watching the sperry tent rise up between the morning and early afternoon.

How beautiful! Later in the afternoon the ceremony rehearsal took place.... Reverend Dave Johnson came out to the site and helped us orchestrate the rehearsal. Everyone was in good spirits and ready for the weekend events.

Later in the afternoon we gathered with the mother of the bride and the maid of honor to construct a mock up for the dinner tables. After a few different napkin folds and candle placement we had a winning look!

Later that night we headed back to Farmington to run the light check. After a few variations and color changes the tent looked fabulous in the night sky!

Today is going to be quite the event! I am so excited for the big day and can't wait to watch it unfold...check back soon for pictures.

Have a Super Saturday!

Sneak Peek:Pippin Hill

Today Pippin Hill opens the doors (quite BIG doors I might add!) to the first bride and groom to walk the aisle and celebrate their marriage with friends and family. I can't believe the day is here...how exciting! A big job well done and congrats to Dean, Whitney, Amalia, and Melissa and all of the crew behind the scenes.

Last night a group of us from Pippin Hill and Easton Events had the opportunity to help add some final touches. It has been so much fun seeing the space transform from a construction site to the beautiful vineyard it is today....and as the summer progresses even more changes will occur!

With the help of JohnSarahJohn, a local creative firm, and a collection of amazing decorative pieces from around the globe the space is really coming together! There is a sense of fine detail and connectivity between all of the rooms and smaller spaces.

Mimi helped decorate the Bridal Suite with her creative eye. The room came together so nicely and will be a great place for the bride and her bridesmaids to spend time before the big event!

I am loving the hints of blues and greens throughout the space...even in the kitchen!

I am so excited that the doors are open! Tonight is going to be a huge hit, and I can't wait to watch it all take place. As the summer ripens more changes will occur and Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyards will be up and running for events and tastings. Come on out!

Have a Fantastic Friday...and check back soon!

Clifton Wedding

Once again Easton Events put on another fab event! A few weeks ago the magical evening took place at a Church downtown and was followed by a celebration at the Clifton Inn.

We had SO much fun working with the bride and groom... they were such a lovely couple. The wedding party was spunky and super excited to have a part in the occasion. The bride and groom met here in VA too, while attending Darden at the University of Virginia...how fun!

Down beyond the main house a tent was in place and filled lighted with lanterns and beautiful florals. The rounds and farm tables came together to fill the space and created a comfy/cozy feel. Augusta sure has a creative eye!

The tent was set back and surrounded by bushes and trees creating a secret garden like atmosphere for the guests to spend their night dining and dancing away....the crowd looked like they were having a blast! One fun touch was the photo-booth that was used by the guests to compile a fun-photo filled guest book. After taking pictures the guests glued the images down and wrote sweet little messages!

Mimi and I had some fun after the event too!

Have a Terrific Tuesday night...and check back soon!

Graduation in C'ville

My time as a University of Virginia student has come and gone. Graduation took place on Sunday morning, lasting until mid-afternoon. What a wonderful celebration and special time to be with family and best friends.

We have had 4 wonderful years together. Learned so much, laughed so much, and together grew as individuals through our friendships. I can truly say I met my best friends here at UVA!

They have become my second family and have helped create Charlottesville to be my second home. So much so that I am staying! I am onto the next chapter in my life.... a month working in Greece, a job with Easton Events and Pippin Hill Vineyards, a fellowship through my Church downtown, and another year in C'ville.

To all my graduating friends... congrats!

Have a Marvelous Monday...and check back soon!

back in C'ville!

After a very fun and relaxing weekend away, I am back in Charlottesville.... just in time for our graduation celebrations!

Sullivans Island was great fun, and we even had the chance to slip into Charleston for the afternoon and stroll King Street and walk the Battery.

Weekend Wedding Set-up

Last night Easton Events put on a fabulous (as always!) Wedding at the Clifton Inn. The bride and groom were such a great couple and the bridal party and guests could not have been more fun and easy-going...they looked like they were having a BLAST!

We went out to Clifton Friday afternoon to start preparations and take a look at the tent and lighting set-up. Clifton Inn is just gorgeous. Everything was in full bloom and the house looked fresh and ready for the big event.
There are so many interesting and hidden spaces within the grounds of the Clifton. While I had some free time I wandered around and snapped some photos!

I love their secret garden like pool, located to the side of the main house. The cabana style lounge areas and twinkling white lights make the pool area feel picture perfect.

The Clifton Inn has little cottages spread throughout...each one with a little variation and twist.  The groomsmen gathered in the Carriage House before the ceremony while the girls were located in the main house. I love the tables and chairs, located within the gardens, for the guests to use throughout their stay!

Friday afternoon the tent was in place and the lighting was being installed and finalized. Everything was coming together smoothly and was starting to look wonderful! I love having the opportunity to see the event from the beginning stages... it's incredible to watch the space transform from piles of rental items into the final product. Augusta has SUCH a creative eye!

The event was so much fun! I am heading out of town for the next few days but when I return I will post pictures from the night.

Have a Super Sunday...and check back soon!

El Fin De Semana de Mayo

This year my Cinco de Mayo celebrations seemed to last the whole week.... and I had no problem with that! Celebration #1 took place on the 5th of May when we went to La Cocina del Sol in Crozet. It was the perfect place to spend the holiday, enjoying fajitas and lime margaritas!

The Crozet area is simplistic. With a few restaurants, a barber shop, and other little odds and ends the neighborhood is quite sleepy by 10pm! La Cocina del Sol seemed to be the happening spot for Cinco de Mayo.... all of the outside tables were occupied and groups of friends enjoyed good Mexican food and fun colorful drinks.

Be sure to check out the Crozet area, located close to C'ville, this summer! The quiet atmosphere and empty streets are a nice break from the busy city life.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday...and check back soon!

Hangin' with Luly

It's that time of the year again...the dreaded exam period! Thankfully this time I have my little dog Lucy in town to keep me motivated.

The blogging will continue later in the week...as for now happy studying!

Beth's Birthday Bash

Last night I traveled home for a little birthday party for Beth! My mom and a few of her friends threw a killer get-together on the porch in honor of the big day. The porch was cleaned, the slip covers washed, and candles were lit.

From a layered pettifor cake to edible flowers the food was simply wonderful. Mini sliders and cole slaw were served and a fruity champagne cocktail was sipped as well as lime jello shooters...perfect for the big "four O"

I loved the use of white lights in branches and flares of pretty pretty pink!

Little birthday decorations were placed throughout the house which made the night extra special! We even had a sparkling celebration as we sang Happy Birthday. Pink and white colored sparklers were being played with by all...

Happy Birthday Beth... I love you!
