Cloverlone Broodmare Farm and Featured Artwork

Cloverlone Broodmare Farm, located in Marshall, Virginia, is owned and operated by Gail Guirreri-Maslyk. For over twenty years Gail has worked to reproduce and breed Holsteiner sport horses... so close to C'ville!

With a stunning barn and beautiful horses, Cloverlone Farm is known by many. The Holsteiner Horse is one of the oldest German warmbloods and is known for its show jumping strengths and cross country competitions. These horses can cover long distances as well as high level activity over a long period of time. Holsteiner Horses are traditionally grey, black, bay, or chestnut and have strong muscular necks, a deep girth, and heavy frame.

I wanted to share some incredible photos taken by Gail this winter! The beauty of the horse is enhanced by the snowy background and beautiful farm landscape.

I am just loving their playfulness on this snowy day!

Gail not only breeds horses in Virginia, she also paints when she can find the time! Equine Impressions is fine equestrian art featuring both landscapes and portrait fine art. She works with oil on canvas and has been featured in many publications and sells her artwork during many horse shows... including the Kentucky Derby! Gail donates her efforts to charities across the United States benefiting humane foundations and equine resume and retirement.

Gail wrote "I am fond of trying new portraits and become very involved in the animal's (or person's) outlook. I paint to capture that moment expression so that the viewer may know exactly what the subject was thinking." She is available for commissions as well as private or group painting lessons over the winter months.  I could easily be persuaded to take a painting class or two!

I hope you enjoy these photographs and paintings. This is just a tiny taste of the horse culture around the Charlottesville area. If you are inspired investigate further and a whole new world will open up!

Have a Fantastic Friday... and check back soon!
